As a matter of principle, we only process personal data of our users to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website as well as our content and services. Processing regularly takes place only with the user's consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), on the basis of a contractual relationship (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR), to fulfil legal obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR) or on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Each time our website is accessed, our hosting provider automatically collects data and information from the computer system of the accessing device (server log files). The following are collected:

A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the host. Processing takes place exclusively within the European Union. The legal basis for the use is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a reliable, secure provision of this website).
We use exclusively technically necessary cookies that are required for the operation of the website (e.g. session cookie for the contact form, session cookie of the protected download area and storing your cookie consent). The legal basis is § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. These cookies are set without your consent.
Optional cookies or content (in particular embedded videos – see section 8) are only loaded after your express consent pursuant to § 25 (1) TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
If you contact us via the contact form or by email, the data transmitted (name, email address, possibly phone and company, content of the message) is stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) as well as Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries.
We use a server-side arithmetic captcha (no data to third parties) to prevent spam. When you send an enquiry, we additionally transmit to ourselves the sender's IP address and the timestamp as part of the incoming email; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abusive enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). For reasons of data minimisation, the IP address is cryptographically hashed with a daily rotating salt before sending – we therefore do not store a direct IP, but a pseudonym token that allows us to recognise within the same day whether several enquiries originate from the same connection.
Your data is not passed on to third parties. The data is deleted as soon as processing has been completed and no statutory retention obligations (e.g. § 257 HGB, § 147 AO – up to 10 years) apply.
Customers and service partners can log in to a protected area to download manuals, example projects and firmware. Access credentials are issued by us manually – there is no self-registration. We store the user name, a designation of the account (e.g. company name) and the password exclusively as a cryptographic hash (bcrypt); the plain-text password is not known to us. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance or initiation of a contract).
For the login we use a technically necessary session cookie
(SZESID) that serves solely to maintain your session and expires
after 8 hours at the latest, or after 60 minutes of inactivity.
No analysis of your usage behaviour and no tracking takes place.
To prevent unauthorised access and to ensure traceability, we log logins, failed login attempts and file downloads within the protected area. We record the time, the type of event, the user name used and – for downloads – the file retrieved. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of our service and in preventing misuse (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
For reasons of data minimisation we do not store any plain-text IP address here either, but a pseudonym token generated with a daily rotating salt (cf. section 6). These log records are deleted automatically after six months. They are not passed on to third parties and not combined with other data sources. We delete your access credentials as soon as the account is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.
On individual pages we embed videos from YouTube (provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). These videos are only loaded after your active consent. During playback, Google may process data (including IP address, device information) and, where applicable, transfer it to servers in the USA. For transfers to the USA, Google relies on the standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of the EU Commission of 10 July 2023).
